Being Choicey Away from Home

I'm in Athens, Greece celebrating my Birthday and it seems that there's meat all over every menu: meat and french fries. what to do? what to do?

Actually the Mediterranian diet is purported to be one of the healthiest you can find, but it's not very 'raw'. So far, I've been eating a lot of salads for lunch and making sure to have a salad dinner while passing on the french fries.

One of the great things about being away from home in a place where you're a tourist is that you do a lot of walking and, hopefully, a lot of water-drinking and sweating. There's been no lack of either while I've been here. The temps are in the mid 90s, and we've had several bottles of water, worn out a pair of sandals, and sat for lunch and dinner in various restaurants (all in 2 days). We also had some smoothies and fresh juice after spending a few hours roaming like architects around the Acropolis.

You can make better choices with every meal and still have a great experience away from home. I even shared some real Baklava for dessert and relished every bite.

Bon Voyage!
